Raiding Oaktown

Raider Nation

tapped into the energy that is the raider nation for opening day against the paper lions. agent frosty blew in for the occasion, and we linked up with rue and the Q for an extended tailgate.

Raider Nation

for the record, a 7:30am arrival for a 1pm kickoff is about right. gets you prime infiltration into the den of the diehards. commitment to excellence is strong in these parts.

Raider Nation

the game itself had its ups and downs. the silver and black dug back from a 17-point deficit to take the lead in the third quarter, giving us all good reason to cheer.

Raider Nation

however, the wheels game off in the fourth, as the lions pulled away to win 36-21. must say, detroit's top draft choice, calvin johnson, looked like the real deal. he's a physical specimen and definitely looked like he will a player to be reckoned with in the league.

hoping we'll soon be able to say the same about jaMarcus....
