Run Muffy Run

Muffy's Run

time again for muffy's run!

friends of Bojon are behind a charitable organization called Muffy's Fund, and Muffy's Run is the charity's flagship event to raise money to help elementary and middle school educators working with children in traditionally underserved communities in the Bay Area.

Muffy's Run is a 5 mile race/2 mile fun run (open to all) that will be held in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco on Sunday morning, April 30th.

proceeds from this year's run will go to the KIPP Bayview Academy, a college prep middle school in Bayview Hunters Point. The mission of KIPP Bayview Academy is to develop in the students of Southeastern San Francisco the knowledge, critical thinking skills and character traits needed to succeed in top quality high schools and colleges, and to lead deliberate and productive lives.

Heavenly Spring Break

Heavenly Spring Break

groovy bojaunt up to lake tahoe with the Hi-Rew clan for spring break.

we settled in at the base of heavenly along the lake and chilled for the easter weekend. picturesque combo of mountains and lake up there on the south shore.

Heavenly Spring Break

and the upside to the deluge of rain we've had in the bay area: a late spring base of almost 10 feet!

good times on the slopes with the nefarious shellzam as she carved her only turns of the season.

here are a few clips of the action:

and a few pix for the archives:

Wake And Bake

reprisal from a year ago...

ah yes, 420 comes around but once a year; and so, jam along with the Toyes [AUDIO]:

I smoke two joints in the morning, I smoke two joints at night
I smoke two joints in the afternoon, it makes me feel alright
I smoke two joints in time of peace, and two in time of war
I smoke two joints before I smoke two joints, and then I smoke two more

Oh, my daddy he once told me, "Son, you be hard working man"
My mama she once told me, "Son, you do the best you can"
But then one day I met a man who came to me and said
"Hard work good and hard work fine, but first take care of head"

Shake, Rattle, And Roll

1906 Earthquake

lots of chatter this past month leading up to the 100th anniversary of the great san francisco earthquake.

the trembler struck at 5:13 am on April 18, 1906, and all hell broke loose from there.

check out the SF Chronicle site for some pretty niffty coverage of the '06 quake.

and here are are bunch of old time shots of the damage:

Pulse Of Steel

Steel Pulse Weekend

thump, thump, thump... no, not dead yet. perhaps beatin' a tad fainter than yesteryear, but still there. yes, yes, still there.

a little throwback weekend reminescent of the old days with back-to-back forays out on the town to taste the san francisco night life.

Steel Pulse Weekend

friday took us to mr. smith's down south of market to catch up with lady caitlin who was celebrating another year on this planet.

Steel Pulse Weekend

her sidekick, the illustrious subgenius, was in good form and kept everybody well liquored and well entertained.

absolutely killer to catch with the crew and toss back a few. lots of characters came out to play, and a bunch of legends from the old days showed up. simply smashing, bazel.

Steel Pulse Weekend

had to pull the rip cord arount midnight in order to keep the home team happy. and thank the patron saint of hangovers that i did. word on the street was that everyone out past midnight paid dearly the next day.

Steel Pulse Weekend

and then saturday brought a clever little bojaunt to the fillmore to catch the reggae beats of steel pulse. five star and the talented sista monica joined forces with shellzam and myself and helped us dial everything in.

Steel Pulse Weekend

yep, the crowd was on the program. great to feel the groove at a sold out show.

here are a couple of vid clips from the action:

weekends like this a bit scarce these days, but thank the grandparents for making it possible to turn back time this weekend (even as the clocks sprang forward).
